Preparing Items for Sale
-
Wash all clothing—make sure it’s clean, stain-free, and smells fresh.
-
Press or steam clothing if wrinkled; neat items sell faster.
-
Wipe down shoes and baby gear to remove dirt, scuffs, and debris.
-
Disinfect toys, gear, and plastic surfaces with safe cleaning wipes or spray.
-
Check for missing pieces—games, puzzles, and toys must be complete.
-
Test all battery-operated items and include working batteries.
-
Remove pet hair and lint using a lint roller or fabric shaver.
-
Polish hard surfaces (like furniture or plastic toys) to make them shine.
-
Secure all loose parts with tape, bags, or zip ties.
-
Bundle items neatly with ribbon, string, or bags where needed.
-
Double-check for damage—no stains, tears, holes, pilling, broken zippers, or missing buttons.
-
Follow all tagging and packaging guidelines to avoid items being rejected at drop-off.
Pricing Suggestions
-
Aim to price items at 25–33% of their original retail value.
-
Think of this as an opportunity to earn extra cash. Avoid overpricing.—pricing too high can result in your items not selling.
-
-
We recommend marking items to go half-price on the last day of the sale.
However, if you don't want to sell at half-price, then mark "No" under "Allow Discount?" when creating barcode labels in your consignor account (new tagging system).-
To ensure you still hit your desired minimum, try pricing items double what you want to earn.
-
Shoppers LOVE 50% off deals, and more items sell on the final day!
-
-
Bundle items (smaller items, onsies, etc.) to meet the $2 minimum price requirement.
-
Do NOT price below $2 and stick to whole dollar amounts only.
-
Use even-number pricing, it makes half-off pricing easier to calculate.
-
-
Hangers will not be returned, they are sent with shoppers when items are purchased.
-
Suggested Price Ranges
-
Bargain brands (e.g., Garanimals, Faded Glory): $1–$4
-
Everyday brands (e.g., Old Navy, Carter’s, Children’s Place): $3–$6
-
Premium brands (e.g., Gap, Janie & Jack, Mini Boden): $7–$10
-
Large items (e.g., gear, furniture): 25–30% off retail price
-
Creating Tags
Through your consignor account, you’ll create "barcode label/tag orders",
hand-written tags or non-barcoded tags from previous sales will be accepted this sale,
but for future sales consignors will receive a lower percentage on their sold items.
Watch a tutorial here to see how to create tags in the new system. Once tags are printed you can
hand-write a description on the tag to assist with uniting the tag to the item in case of lost tags.
-
Always print tags on cardstock or heavyweight paper preferred.
-
Tags must be securely attached—items get handled frequently, and if a tag without a specific
description falls off, we will be unable to sell it. -
Items will be rejected during inspection if they are not tagged or packaged properly.
NOTE: Hand written tags or printed tags from previous sales without a barcode will be accepted for THIS SALE. -
